Elecronic reels are a great invention when fishing in 1700 feet of water!

Thanks for the pictures be sure to look for them on line! Just wondering. Did Capt. Ralph make you reel in that sword from those depths by hand?

Ralph: Kevin and I want to thank you again for another incredible day on Outta Control. Our 200lb swordfish caught on Friday morning, May 7, 2010, was a sight to see. Those steaks, along with the Amber jacks, made it all the way to NJ and will provide a feast. I sent Sehoon some pictures. Can't wait to come down for another adventure. Be well.

Been catchin alot of fish!! Sorry haven't posted anything lately. Today was no exception. Full day charter catching 4 sails and releasing 4 more. We also caught 4 Bonitas and a 25lb Blackfin Tuna. This was in 170 ft of water off the the Hollywood Sewer Outflow. We later went deep on a wreck and caught 4 amber jacks 30-50 lbs each. Seas today were flat calm. 45 degrees in the morning but worming to about 75 by the afternoon. Great day to be out!

I took three friends out on a trip with Capt. Ralph on Wed. 2/17/10. Capt. Ralph told me that the Sail Fish bite had slowed down, and it was evident listening to the talk on the radio. None of the boats were hooking up. After working the wrecks for a while, with little current, and no bites, Capt. Ralph put up the kites. Within 15 minutes we had a ten foot T-Head shark circling the goggle eyes. He tasted one, but Capt. Ralph cound not entice him to the boat to take the speedo on the wire leader. He came within 15 feet of the boat and disappeared. After a while Capt. Ralph pulled in the kites and hit another wreck. We hooked up back, to back, to back, with three Amberjacks going to 40 pounds. Just when it seemed as though the bite was over, the rod bent again and Devon was fighting a fish for an unusually long time. Finally, colored appeared in the water and I couldn't belive my eyes. At the end of the leader was the largest Amberjcak I had ever seen. Capt. Ralph grabbed the leader and hoisted it into the boat. It was every bit of 100 pounds. My three buddies were happy with the trip and asking when we were going fishing again. Capt. Ralph, you did it again. Nice job, and thank you so much!

Valentines day on the ocean was pretty good. Although none of the other charters had any bites we did well. Had a sailfish bite on the first 10 minutes our bait was in the water. Ended up bringing in 2 of 3 Sails. OUr second charter of the day we brought in 4 Amber Jacks weighing about 18 to 30 pounds. They caught off the coast of Hollywood on a wreck in about 200 feet of water. Live Speedo's did the trick.

We managed to fish for about 5 hours today. It was an excitment filled day for sure. We caught 7 out of 11 sailfish today, along with 5 dolphin and 3 black tip sharks all in 160 ft of water. We had a north wind 15 to 20 mph. Seas today 4 to 6ft and building. The bite was just off the steeple. Thanks for checking us out.

Thanks Dave, The weather was a little cold Sunday, but we managed to get 2 sails and 5 King Mackeral yesterday. All were on Goggs either on the kites or flatlining them. All the sailfish were caught around mid mornining and slowed down in the afternoon. The Kings were fiesty and like to jump after the Goggs which created quite a show. Thanks for checking us out!
